Stay informed about CBVRCE bus delays & cancellations

CBVRCE’s Transportation Department has switched to using only Bus Planner Web and the Bus Planner Delays App to share information about individual bus cancellations and/or delays. This change was made to limit the number of messages being received by families. 

 

Please see below for details about how to access Bus Planner Web and the Bus Planner Delays App. 

 

Bus Planner Web  

  • The BusPlanner Web platform allows families to access their child(ren)’s bus information online, including route number, pickup/drop-off times and locations.  

  • Families who sign up for this service will receive email and push notifications that are specific to their child(ren)’s bus route(s).  

  • To register, visit: cbvrce.mybusplanner.ca click on Parent Portal and create account. 

   

Bus Planner Delays App   

  • The Bus Planner Delays app sends families push notifications that are specific to their child(ren)’s bus route(s).   

  • It is free to download and allows users to select which route(s) they would like to receive notifications for.  Download links: (Apple App Store)   (Google Play Store)

Bus Planner Delays App & Parent Portal
It’s now easier than ever to stay informed about changes or delays to your child(ren)’s bus route(s). Beginning in September 2025, the Transportation Department will only share information about delays or cancellations through the Bus Planner Delays app. This will ensure families only receive notifications for their selected bus route(s).

The Bus Planner Delays App is free to download on your smartphone. Once installed, you can select which route(s) you would like to receive notifications for. To get started, watch the instructional video below, or follow these steps:

  • Search for “Bus Planner Delays” in the App Store and download it for free.
  • Open the app, select “Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education” from the menu, and click “Next.”
  • Follow the prompts to select “My Child’s Bus,” choose your child’s school, and then their specific bus route. (If you do not know your child(ren)’s route, login to the Bus Planner Parent Portal at https://cbvrce.mybusplanner.ca/ to confirm eligibility and route*)
  • Close the app and restart it to ensure all settings are applied correctly
